Labour Day, May 1 in Vienna

Labour Day is a national holiday in Austria. Austria has a strong labor movement and on May 1 many of Austrians celebrate this holiday with rallies, political parades and the festivities continue with concerts and traditional get-together in tents usually assembled for a time of holidays where we have a meal and drink some of bear.
You see one of such “oases” in photo and it’s situated in front of the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party or SPÖ that govern the country and that is one of the oldest parties in Austria. It must be said, the official party’s color is red.
And really, all was full in red; even tulips on a bed were in brightly red color.
And also in these May days erect the Maypole. Couple of years ago I took part along with inhabitants of Baden in this holiday and also shall tell in next time about.
