Climing on Mount Carmel

Today I invite to stroll on Mount Carmel. We enter the reserve from the side of kibbutz (a collective community in Israel) Yagur. The plate, just in front entrance, informs visitors that they need to have three liters of water a person (it happens, the tourists lose reference points of routs) and also: don’t disturb animals and plants living in reserve and return before dark. Entrance is free.

We have had this stroll on the day of Tu-bi-Shvat (see my post: Israel. Tu-b'Shvat 2011). And now I wanna note only: it has been at the end of January but it wasn’t winter it was spring. I was absorbing everything: the landscape, the smells, the sun beams, and the blue sky. The bright, fresh grass in my photos, it is true picture and not painted or improved photos with photoshop.

So, we begin a climbing on Mount Carmel.

New Egyptian Collection from Green Diamond SJD

Today I introduce a new jewelry collection called the “Egyptian Collection” produced by Green Diamond SJD. We turn to this theme for the first time.

I and my husband like the style Art Deco and we have many art albums dedicated to this period of jewelry art and every time when I visit an auction-house Dorotheum in Vienna I pay my attention to Art Deco Jewelry.

And now I’ll tell a little, why I establish linkage between our Egyptian Collection and Art Deco style.

The Egyptian style was among the most popular jewelry designs to emerge from the Art Deco period. The discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb by British archeologist, Dr. Howard Carter, in 1922, had sparked widespread fascination with Egyptian culture. Among specific Art Deco design motifs that were directly inspired from King Tut's tomb were blue faience (glazed ceramic) scarabs, amulets, and face masks of King Tut. ..... Egyptians used to make their fantastic jewelry, we can look to these pieces as inspiration in making beautiful jewelry today. Today I show some items produced of Sterling Silver with imitations of coral and turquoise. They look as a genuine coral and turquoise and have the same color. But just, due to using of imitations of genuine stones it has been possible to lower prices of our collection. And the most important, now we can offer buyers the true jewelry in Egyptian Style but not a “poor” jewelry with use of semiprecious stones of very low quality which counters of shops are overfilled.

Israel. Tu-b'Shvat 2011

A week ago “winter” in Israel has finished because we celebrated the festival of Tu-b’Shvat or New Year of the Trees. By the way, there wasn’t winter in Israel this year. The dry winds from desert gave way to rare rains and the temperature at Mediterranean sea coast only several days fell below +17° Celsius and, New Year of 2011 we celebrated at +20°. But nevertheless the boundary marked by fifteenth of Shevat, was overcome, and spring again has come.

This year we again visited the orangery “Yagur” where the festive program was promised, but the most attractive action for me was: children plant their small plants. I like this tradition so much.

Certainly the orangey offer a lot of plants and it was so difficult to resist the temptation and nothing to buy. I selected the spicy plants: stevia, lavender, thyme and spreading, low-growing with arching branches rosemary.

My 2010. September- December

September: The summer traveling season is finished and Viennese have returned to the work and active life has returned to Vienna too. One event replaced another and I often hadn’t enough spare time to visit everything interested me. But on days off everyone try to slacken one’s pace, put on tourist clothes and go outside Vienna. So and I departed to small town of Spitz to stroll at Wachau valley among riverain vineyards and orchards.

September. Certainly, I couldn’t ignore the main September flower – dahlias and I show the photos I took at Viennese kurpark Oberlaa. This park is a part of a health complex the Term which this autumn opened a modernized rest complex. I recommend visiting the Term to relax especially if you travel in cold season.

September, Austria. Laxenburg. This small town, as well as Baden, is situated closer to Vienna. Foreign tourists very seldom visit Laxenburg may be because of limited time but Viennese as well as in imperial times like to come here to stroll along channels.

October. This month as well as April was divided into two but now the first half of month I have been in Austria – the photo of Baden’s Kurpark; and at the end of month I walked along Tel-Aviv promenade.

November. Rosh-haNikra, it the name of one more Israel preserve located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a white chalk cliff which is a border of Israel and Lebanon. The reserve is located only in 14 kilometers from Nahariya (remind: Nahariya is a seaside city-resort in Israel where I spend winter). It’s me in both photos. The tripod is placed on sand and in one and half hour we photographed a sunset.

December. Hanukkah., the Festival of Lights. During eight days Jewish light and unique candelabrum, the nine-branched Menorah which called Hanukiah. In photo you see Hanukiah on entrance to Nahariya city. I wanna pay your attention to a smoke trail around a flame of candles: it is a true oil Hanukiah and not electric.

December. The last Saturday of 2010 we moved for Bay leaves but not to nearest supermarket, we moved from coast aside mountains to cut leaves from a bush. We admired the magnificent views opening in all directions: both aside the sea and mountains and valleys lying on other side up to the horizon. It was a shiny, warm day, but I’ve chosen a photo of crocus grown through fallen foliage just in time of New Year eve.

My 2010. July - August

In hot July days I often stroll in Prater

July. In one of the days off we have had a good time at the Baden’s Hippodrome. I like this charming place for its cosy and relaxed atmosphere. People keep ones eyes with excitement not only on horse races but also appoint the meetings here. It is so pleasant to talk to friends sitting in a café, go out for a short time to place a bet on a next race, and then continue the conversation.

August. Traditionally in August the most significant event in flora and garden Austrian design take place in Tulln on the Danube. This year motto was “Flowering Picture Gallery”.

Schönbrunn Zoo. Elephant calf was born on 6 August. I visited zoo when elephant calf appeared on public for the first time. He is 3 weeks old only and his name is Tuluba “big ears”. Some 61.4% of the 10,000 voters on internet choose the name.

Year of 2010 imprinted in my memory. January - June

On first days of 2011 year I’ve completed the last page of my photodiary of 2010 and begin a new one.

But today I recollect the events of last year. I divided photos according to months, 2-3 for every, and to my surprise, I spent some pleasant hours “by sorting” my impressions and even have involved in discussion of my husband. I found out, we live “the big life’ within a year and I cannot squeezed all events and my impressions in short post but I’ve tried and chosen some photos. So, today – my year of 2010 from January till June.
